You know what they say, “couples that play together, stay together.” As Valentine’s Day approaches couples are searching for ways to spend time with the ones they love. Geocaching can be a great way for couples to spend quality time together without spending a lot of cash. Instead, they can spend a day looking for “cache”. Whether you are a veteran geocacher, or have never done it before, here are a few geocaching date ideas for you and your sweetheart.
1. Simply go Geocaching-
This idea is more for those that have never done it before. To learn more about it watch this video or read this. If you don’t want to invest a bunch of money in a GPSr, simply download an app on your smart phone and away you go. Before you go looking for the first time, make sure that the cache is not buried in the Minnesota snow and look for one with an easier “difficultly” and terrain.
2. Hide gifts or love notes in a cache-
Be creative with your gift or card giving and hide something meaningful in a temporary or permanent cache. You could do what this guy did and have each piece of swag represent something meaningful to you as a couple.
3. Combine geocaching with something you already enjoy doing together-
Do you enjoy biking together? What about hiking, running, or snowshoeing? Mix in geocaching for an enjoyable twist on activities you already do together. There is even an indoor cache you can do in the winter months at the Mall of America. Spend an hour or so looking for the cache, and then grab a bite to eat afterwards.
4. Watch a geocaching related movie-
Many couples might find is unappealing to geocache during the cold month of February. Why not snuggle up to your honey and watch a geocaching related movie? Both “Splinterheads” or ”Find me” could be great options.
5. Design a pathtag or geocoin together-
Want to get creative together? Why not profess your love to the world by creating your very own geocoin or pathtag? How fun would it be to drop your signature item in caches as you are on the trail together.
6. Hide a cache together-
Don’t have the cash to make a pathtag or geocoin? Why not hide a cache in an area that is meaningful to your relationship. Hide a cache in a place where you had your first kiss or professed your love for one another. Go ahead spread the geocaching love.
7. Release a trackable and do something special when it meets its goal-
Build anticipation by sending out a trackable, then when it meets its goal, do something special to celebrate together.
8. Attend a geocaching event together-

9. Take a geocaching trip together-
