Last Friday night 3XWrestling put on a historic show that will be talked about for a long, long time to come. Title belts changed hands, feuds were taken to new heights and then of course there was the much hyped No DQ 60 minute Ironman match. If you did not attend “Divide and Conquer” then you missed an exciting event that had the 3XW fans on the edge of their seats the entire show!
Right from the get go the introduction to the new dastardly super group “Genesis” began to play from the speakers. Out came all the members to the ring to run down the fans in attendance and the other pro wrestlers in the back. Gage Octane took the mic and reported to fans that later in the evening a ten man tag team match would take place with “Genesis” versus who ever will face them. Apparently a few of their scheduled opponents backed out in fear for their lives.
The first match of the night featured the 3XW Pure Wrestling champion “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong and The Mauler, with manager Chad Mylan, taking on “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell and Sir Bradley Charles. As usual Mylan was up to his shenanigans by running his mouth at ringside and trying to interfere in the match. This was also the first time The Mauler was in action at 3XW and his cheating ways did him no good as he was knocked into the first row. Rockwell and SBC were in control most of the bout and seemed to be on the verge of victory when “The Rockstar” went for a pin attempt but the ref got pulled from the ring by Mylan. The ref immediately called for the disqualification against Kwong and The Mauler and an enraged Chad Mylan laid a few choice chops into the ref leaving him in a daze on the floor. “The Rockstar” was furious and challenged Kwong for the belt at next months show. A stipulation was added and the title will change hands even if it ends in a DQ!
Up next was the ten man tag team match. The “Genesis” team consisted of Gage Octane, American Ground and Air, AJ Smooth, “Torturous” Tony Sly and in their corner was the backstabber Steve Biley. The opposing team was made up of “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson, “The American Fury” Jon West, The River Monster, some big security oaf called “Big City” and a very reluctant “Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade. With all these testosterone driven rastlers in the ring things got out of control very quickly. Most of the wrestlers were on the outside of the ring battling for position when American Ground and Air pounced on Masterson and hit him with a doomsday crossbody for the win.
After the chaos from the last match we had the 3XW Heavyweight champion and leader of “Genesis”, Brian Ash, defending his belt against “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson. This match was very one sided as Ash dealt Thompson the beating of a life time. Thompson showed heart and fortitude as he attempted to gain the upper hand against his much larger adversary but the size difference was just too much. Ash ended the massacre by gorilla pressing Thompson above his head then dropped him into a vicious diamond cutter for the easy 1, 2, 3. You can call Brian Ash a cheater, and he is, but he is a dominating champion that may hold the title longer then the 3XW fans wish.
The Tag Team champion match came next and those in attendance were ready to see if the belts would finally change hands. The champs, Casanova and “Delicious” Devin Carter, also members of “Genesis” with “Commissioner” Todd Countryman were ready to protect their belts against Maddog McDowell and Krotch of “The Horndogs”. This was a back and forth war with neither team getting an upper hand over the other. Casanova decided to grab one of the belts and threw it to Countryman to use on Krotch. But sprinting from the locker room Skylar Pierce charged the ring! He took out Countryman and this allowed “The Horndogs” to use their finisher the “Horndog Drop” on Casanova to get the win and the titles! The crowd exploded as the new 3XW Tag Team champions raised the straps in victory.
The time had arrived for the main event. For months people had been talking about what would happen at the 60 minute No DQ Ironman match with Mark Sterling and “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt. Finally these two warriors from Kansas City were going to meet again and prove to each other and to every 3XW fan why they are two of the best pro wrestlers today.
“The Rebel” came out first slowly walking around the ring while trading verbal tirades with random fans. Mark Sterling came out to a thunderous applause and stalked the outside of the ring with a look of determination to destroy. The bell rings and they lock up and began the one hour match with a perfect series of technical holds and counters. The 3XWrestling fans were really into this match as chants for both wrestlers went back and forth from the ecstatic crowd. As they go hold for hold Mark Sterling was able to hook Wyatt in his infamous “Markshooter”. “The Rebel” attempted to escape but thought better and tapped out as there was still a lot of time left in the match. This put Sterling up 1-0.
After a twenty second break after the fall these two rivals were at it again. A little less technical and a lot of fists began to fly freely. Wyatt started a come back and out of no where he hit Sterling with his devastating “Lightning Spiral” and tied the falls with one win each. Wyatt knew he had hurt Sterling bad with his finisher and smelled blood. He jumped on the battered Sterling and came up with another quick pin fall and upped the match two falls to one. Fans of “The Rebel” were shouting with joy like he had already won the match but there was still more then a half hour left on the clock.
Sterling was shaking off the last pin fall and Wyatt was jaw jacking with his favorite 3XW fans when out of the back came “Genesis” to surround the ring. What was going on? Was one of these two wrestlers involved with this dominant faction? Not on your life! Wyatt and Sterling both turned and started to throw down with “Genesis”! The numbers were too much for them when the 3XW wrestlers came down to even the odds. Mayhem is the only way to describe it. The 3XW loyalists tried to get “Genesis” to the back when Jeremy Wyatt suicide dives off the turnbuckle and on to men below! Wrestlers fall into the crowd that already is going nuts over the high risk maneuver. Not to be out done while the disoriented wrestlers began to get up Mark Sterling dove on top of them too! Pro wrestlers were strewn about the concrete and the 3XW fans couldn’t believe what they had just seen.
Wyatt and Sterling were once again left in the ring to finish what they had started. With some hard hitting moves going back and forth Sterling was able hit Wyatt with a crushing spear. He got the pin and the match was tied at two wins a piece. They were fighting again when Sterling threw Wyatt to the outside. Sterling went out too and reached under the ring to raise a chair above his head to the delight of the crowd. Sterling drilled Wyatt with a hard shot to the back with the chair and he went to hit him again but before he could “The Rebel” threw powder into Sterling’s face! Wyatt grabbed the blind Sterling and delivered a vicious piledriver on top of a chair on the outer ring apron. The fans chanted “3XW, 3XW, 3XW” as Sterling lay in a comatose state on the cold hard floor! Wyatt rolled Sterling into the ring and got the pin. The score now had Wyatt up three to Sterling’s two.
Again Wyatt wasted no time in attacking the vulnerable Mark Sterling and quickly strapped on a crossface. Already injured Sterling tapped out and Wyatt was now up four to two. Things were looking bleak for Sterling but still his devoted 3XW fans rooted for him to comeback. “The Rebel” went under the apron and this time came out with a table that he set up in the ring. Sterling was able to muster up some strength and threw Wyatt head first into a chair set up in between the ropes. He hit hard and fell back onto the table. Sterling ascended to the top of the turnbuckle and leapt onto Wyatt pulverizing him threw the table! Sterling got the pinfall and was now behind by one as the score was now 4-3.
Sterling took a page from “The Rebel” and attacked his downed opponent. Out of no where Sterling hit Wyatt with his own finishing move the “Lightning Spiral”! Sterling attempted a pin cover but Wyatt got up before three. The fans were started to get restless as time counted down and Sterling was still behind. Finally with minutes left in the match Sterling powerbombed Wyatt and got the 1, 2, 3. The crowd went crazy as they were now tied with four pinfalls each! They got to their feet with their last breaths and once again Jeremy Wyatt was able to hit Sterling with the “Lightning Spiral”. Wyatt went for cover but as the ref went for the count time ran out in the match. Tied at 4-4 it was a draw!
The fans could not believe what was happening and looked around in confusion and some with anger. But to many peoples surprise “Commissioner” Todd Countryman came out and probably said the smartest thing he has ever. “The 3XW fans did not pay their hard earned money to see a draw this match will go into sudden death!” The roof blew off the top of the 3XW arena and these two fighters prepared to finish the war. Giving everything they had nonstop for over one hour the end to a terrific match finally came. Mark Sterling gave Jeremy Wyatt a piledriver of his own on top of a steel chair. Sterling made the cover and came away as 3XW’s true ironman!
The fans gave a rousing standing ovation for what they had just witnessed. Mark Sterling took the mic and asked for the time of the contest. It had gone ten minutes over regulation and these two superstars gave us their heart and soul for all seventy minutes of this awesome match. Sterling got up and said that Wyatt was the best he ever wrestled and extended his hand in respect. And unlike last time and quite unexpectedly Wyatt returned the handshake and they embraced in the ring. Wyatt raised Sterling’s hand and quietly left the ring. Sterling stood in his glory as this feud was now over and new conflicts will be on the horizon. Two warriors came into the ring that night and after seventy minutes both of them left as legends.
