A working mom is always on call. Either in the office or at home. Work, work, work. Thats a life of a working mom.
All working mom’s have someone who depends apon them. They need their moms to help her with their homework, and tuck them into bed at night. There are just some things a child needs from their mothers. Some times you may be tired and its a chore to do these things and they shouldn’t be. We can’t afford to skip on the little things that our children count on, because if you do you loose that and its impossible to get it back.
Some peoples days go a little like this. Their day starts at 5:15 a.m. and ends at 11 p.m. First starting with the waking up of the husband and making his lunch and having a few minutes to chat before he’s out the door and off to work. Then there is the animals dogs/cats/birds whatever there maybe. They need to be let out and fed in the morning that takes about 15 or 20 minutes.
After that’s done the mom needs to get ready. First by jumpping into the shower and putting on your face. The clock now says 6:45 a.m. Then you need to wake up the child/children and get them ready. Finially the kids are ready and by now it’s 7:20 a.m and you have to try and convince them to have a bite to eat. After that’s all said and done it is now 7:40 a.m and during all this time you have managed to make the lunches for the day and eat breakfast yourself. Now you have to get them out the door and the animals in their place, because the bus will be here by 7:50 a.m. Finally you’ve made it. Now you have to rush off to work and be there for 8:15 a.m.
The day continues as it always does at work for both your husband and you and school goes by for your children as usual as it does and then everyone starts to show up back at home. Your husband arrives home first around 4 p.m and lets the dogs out of the run. Your children arrive home around 4:15 off the bus and they do everything, but their homework. And then there’s you. You are last to arrive home. You don’t get off work till 6 p.m. or later and then you have to get the mail and pick up a few things at the store. You are lucky to make it home by 6:25 p.m.
However no one has bothered to make supper, never mind start it. No one has decided to pick up their jackets or moved their shoes to the shoe rack. And no one bothered to do or make sure someone did their homework. This all gets to wait for you. The working mom. So after you fight your way through the door over shoes and jackets you finially make it into the kitchen to whip up something that you call supper.
Everyone eats and you get to do clean up once again and persuade your children into doing their homework, which could have easily been done somewhere between 4:15 and 6:25. By the time supper is done, homework is done and clean up is done you are tired, and you have to work really hard on getting your children to bed on time, and that still doesn’t happen. Your lucky if they stay in their rooms by 10 p.m.
So if this is you please let this writer know. Share your stories and let’s see if we can come up with an easier working mom.
