Adult film stars Andy San Dimas and Tommy Gunn won top honors at the 2011 XBIZ Awards last night, wrapping up this year’s XBIZ LA adult industry trade event.
Andy San Dimas appeared in more than 50 adult films in 2010, including New Sensations’ The Big Lebowski: A XXX Parody (this year’s Parody Release of the Year winner) and Bluebird Films’ BatfXXX: Dark Night (director Nicholas Steele picked up Best Director-Individual Project for the parody, which also won Best Special Effects). Parody fans do seem to love her: She also had starring roles in 2010 as Sabrina in Digital Sin’s Charlie’s Angels parody (the role made famous by Kate Jackson in the 1970s TV series) and as “Ally Needy” in The Breakfast Club XXX (director Lee Roy Myers won Director of the Year-Body of Work for this and his other 2010 porn parodies). San Dimas has been in the news this month after donning a blue wig, yellow body paint and not much else for Full Spread Entertainment’s Simpsons XXX Parody: Marge and Homer’s Sex Tape. And she’ll celebrate some mainstream crossover success in 2011, appearing in director Nicolas Winding Refn’s adaptation of the James Sallis novel Drive, which stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Christina Hendricks, Ron Perlman, Bryan Cranston, and Albert Brooks.
Tommy Gunn starred in dozens of adult films in 2010, including Digital Playground’s firehouse feature Body Heat (Kayden Kross won Acting Performance of the Year for her role in the film), Adam & Eve Pictures’ Best Screenplay winner Rawhide 2: Dirty Deeds Digital Playground’s The Roommate, featuring 2011 XBIZ Awards host Jesse Jane. Gunn has also had some recent mainstream crossover success, living a double life as a Hollywood stunt double and appearing on HBO’s Entourage as part of the 2010 season’s story arc involving porn star Sasha Grey as Vincent Chase’s new love interest. He’s making news this month as a star in the food truck fantasy The Flying Pink Pig and Digital Playground’s forthcoming feature Top Guns.
Dale DaBone won the Performer Comeback fo the Year award for his roles in films like Wicked Pictures’ Speed (Feature Movie of the Year), This Ain’t Avatar XXX (Best Art Direction), and Batman XXX, the bestselling adult title of 2010.
