Armadillo Rodeo is the name of the teen improv comedy troupe based here in Little Rock. They are raising funds to go to the Teen Comedy Fest in Chicago. The fundraising show is tonight. This sounds like a great deal all the way around.
Here’s’ the release.
For an unprecedented third year in a row, the students of Armadillo Rodeo, Arkansas’ only professional teen improv comedy troupe, have been invited to showcase their brand of long-form improvisation at the 2011 Teen Comedy Fest in Chicago, IL! The mecca of improvisation plays host to this national festival where teens from all over the country meet, greet, take workshops from the nation’s leading improv authorities, and perform for their improv peers and Chicago professionals.
Come see them strut their onstage stuff on SATURDAY January 22nd at 8PM at the Public Theatre, as they raise funds for the trip to TCF 2011. The Rodeo will be performing their version of the Chicago long-form staple–The Harold–combining scenes, characters, stories, and songs into a completely improvised one-act play, all based on your audience suggestions and participation.
Armadillo Rodeo performs the Harold on Saturday January 22nd at 8pm at the Public Theatre, 616 Center Street, between 6th and 7th in downtown Little Rock. Tickets are $8 at the door. Call 374.PLAY for more information.
Come have a laugh and lend your support to these remarkable teens who will be representing Arkansas on a national stage! See you Saturday!
