AT&T is not only continuing its tiered service plan into the 4G world, in fact it’s expanding the tiers quite a bit. BGR has come across an internal document showing just how many tiers AT&T is hoping to roll out with its 4G LTE service.
The biggest change in the new tiers will be that not only will your chosen tier include a bandwidth limit, but will also include a speed limit. For example you may be on a 5GB tier, but you may limit yourself to 1MB instead of the full speed LTE provides.
There may be options on top of that to speed up data for a short period for a fee. For example you may need to use a heavy amount of data for the rest of your billing cycle and be able to increase your speed for that period for a fee. These sessions are called Top Up Sessions and Speed Up Sessions for upgrading how much data and the speed of the data.
According to the document AT&T will begin trials of the service starting in May and should go for the rest of the year.
