The opening sequence shows Aidan giving comfort to a dying patient, showing his “humanity”.
And then just that quick, the “dead” patient wakes up and we see that he has been turned into a vampire. The one who turned him was the priest performing his last rites.
In the next scene, we see a man on the same table as the new vampire, as the priest goes over new vamp etiquette on how to devour a human. The new vamp bites into the human, nearly devouring him.
Next scene we see Josh trying to wash away the blood from his clothes from the night before of going wolf-crazy on some vampires. Josh comes down the stairs to see Aidan, Sally, and Ray in the kitchen, and we can see him struggling with his conscioness over the night before.
Big Revelations of the night:
This is the night we find out how Sally died and it was not at first expected. Finding her engagement that was stuck in the bathroom pipe, Sally flashbacks to her last night on Earth. In her flashback we see that Danny is not the loving man we all assumed he was, but an abuser of Sally. He yells at her and verbally abuses her and because she lost her engagement ring down the drain. He goes ballistic until he pushes her down the stairs in his rage, killing her.
Still feeling uncomfortable about letting his wolf out, Josh goes with Ray to the shack in the woods, but while there he decides that he needs to wolf out on his own. Attempting to leave stops when Ray yells out that he had been looking for Josh for two years. We learn that it was Ray was the one to infect Josh with Lycanthropy and Josh is not happy. He shows his human side by crying out his extreme hatred over his condition that is until he starts the transformation.
After confronting Bishop and getting his butt kicked, Aidan finds out what Josh did with Ray. When he gets home, the house is shaking and all because Sally is crying over her revelation, and when she explains how she died, Aidan at the moment shows that deep down he really is a monster and attempts to go after Danny, but Sally begs him to stop.
Sally goes over to Danny’s place and unleashes a ghost rage over his place, and finally after five episodes I am truly liking her. She is not human, though she was clinging to her humanity, and as a ghost gone ballistic, it was truly breath taking.
Aidan goes to church where the priest is and tries to appeal the priest’s humanity, until Aidan shows that while he may be weak in comparison to Bishop, his age show how truly bad ass and cruel he is. He bashes the priest’s fangs and it is epic.
And Josh, well he finally grows a pair and let’s Ray know that he is no longer welcome.
Throughout the show, all the charactera displayed their humanity, yet when it was time, they let the monster out, and it was a thing of beauty.
Last night shows why Being Human is so popular. Five episodes in and it just keeps on getting better!
