Tonight at the 83rd Academy Awards® Show Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann have just won Oscars for Best Animated Short Film for The Lost Thing.
In the film, The Lost Thing, a young man finds a peculiar thing that has no home. He brings home this thing that is fun to play with, but his family is not happy. He searches for a place that this thing belongs to and finally it comes home. This film is an animated cross between 1927’s Metropolis and The Beattles’ Yellow Submarine.

This is Shaun Tan and Andrew Ruhemann’s first Academy Award win and nomination.
