An area of high pressure will bring sunshine and chilly temperatures to the region to round out this weekend before moving east of our region this evening. Although it will be quite breezy today, the wind should not be as strong or as gusty as it was yesterday.
A warm front tied to an area of low pressure over Colorado Sunday morning will advance toward our region overnight Sunday. The low pressure area will track to the lower Great Lakes before redeveloping over the Mid Atlantic and accelerating out to sea during the day on Monday. At present, the track of the system looks as if it should be capable of bringing a modest snowfall to the region. The greatest threat of this system will be making the Monday morning commute a little difficult for those who do not already have the day off thanks to the President’s Day holiday.
High pressure from southern Canada builds into the region behind this system and stays in control of our weather for the majority of the work week. Another relatively non-impressive weather system approaches for the end of the week. At this point in time, it appears as if some warmer air may nose into our region in advance of this system’s passage, thus bringing mainly some rain showers to the region to close out the new work week.
