Practice or learn to shoot, get off the sofa, and get out and burn some calories with the Central California Pistol League. This group is a nonprofit and it regularly holds matches. Match days are typically the second Sunday and fourth Saturday of every month. Anyone can attend the matches to join in the fun by either shooting or watching. Shooting instruction is given at each match. The group promotes competition while also promoting appreciation for sportsmanship, safe gun handling, and an appreciation for practical firearm training.
If attending a match the shooting typically starts at ten in the morning with setup for the match day starting at eight in the morning and the sign-up starting around nine in the morning. Participants are typically asked to bring 250 to 300 rounds and 5 magazines or speed loaders. Results from the matches are typically posted on the website and the phone contact information is also posted on the Central California Pistol League website. Please note that the club is USPSA and IPSC. Those who join can look forward to learning how to handle their handgun safely, be more confident in their shooting, and improve both their speed and their accuracy when shooting.
If you want to get away think of some of the forested hunting clubs. These include amazing duck clubs and private forest lands where you can practice shooting and still enjoy nature. Many of these are actually less expensive to enjoy than traditional shooting ranges so you get to save time too.
