A California man swears that the animal he shot outside of his trailer earlier this week is the legendary Chupacabra (see video).
The Geoergetown handyman, Frank Gallo, told KXTV, “It crouched and faced me and I shot two warning shots at it – 357-magnum, from 20-feet.” The animal wasn’t fazed, he then shot it.
Gallo told KXTV the animal, “let out a cry that sounded like, maybe a six year old girl,” as it looked at the bullet wound in its chest.
Gallo did an image search and the long-clawed, hairless animal resembled other internet photos of the infamous Chupacabra. In addition to the photos, he had his hands on the creature, whose skin, according to Gallo, “is like an elephant.”
Wildlife experts believe it is a juvenile bear who was struck with a physical ailment that caused its abnormality. The warden hauled the animal off to perform test on the animal, particularly to see why the animal lost its hair.
As for Gallo, he‘s not convinced that the animal is a bear, “Doesn’t move anything like a bear, didn’t act like a bear. Doesn’t make sounds like a bear,” he said in the news report.
The name Chupacabra is Spanish for “goat suckers”.
Is the beast that Gallo shot an animal or the legendary Chupacabra?
