Concert singers tweens love
Many of the singers that kids gravitate toward these days are touring internationally but are based in Los Angeles. Katy Perry and Adam Lambert, for example, are very popular with preteens, and 2011 finds them both touring outside of the U.S. Taylor Swift is on tour out of the country until August of 2011, when she will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Several of the singing stars began their careers while starring on Disney and Nickelodeon shows, filmed right here in Los Angeles. Selena Gomez, who just performed on the People’s Choice Awards, is going on tour with her band, Selena and the Scene, and won’t be back for awhile. She starred in Wizards of Waverly Place. MileyCyrus has no dates set in Los Angeles this year yet, and neither does Mitchel Musso, who was on her Hannah Montana television series, but both will be touring.
Miranda Cosgrove, who stars as iCarly on Nickelodeon, does have a concert set on February 24, 2011 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California at 7 p.m. Justin Bieber, who is very popular these days, will be at the Wilshire Theatre, 3701 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles 90010 on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. Demi Lovato, who starred in Disney’s Camp Rock and the television series Sonny with a Chance, is not scheduled at present. The Jonas Brothers, who also starred in Camp Rock and have their own television show, are also not scheduled but will be on tour in 2011.
These singers are particularly popular with the preteens
Of course, if you are allowing your child to attend one of these concerts, there must be an adult to chaperone. The crowds are huge and unruly, and not only could a child get lost, he could be hurt in the shuffle of the masses. The best way to go is in a group. Keep a tight rein on kids going to these events. The drug culture has found it’s way insidiously into Los Angeles teens and the music scene. Remind your kid that many lives have been ruined by alcohol and drugs, and they can enjoy themselves by getting “high” on the music.
