Commercial title: Birthday Wish
One of only two female finalists, Heather Kasprzak moved to Los Angeles five years ago to pursue her dream of becoming an actress and dancer. Once in LA, however, she discovered film and developed a passion for producing and directing. Her current job– creating toy videos for Mattel– clearly influences Birthday Wish. Kasprzak is hoping the ad will be her ticket to a full-time directing career. If Birthday Wish is the big winner in the contest, she says she’ll use the money to build her own production company and to bring other creative concepts to life.
Examiner: What does the term “entrepreneurial filmmaker” mean to you?
Kasprzak: “Being an entrepreneurial filmmaker allows me to collaborate with fun and talented people. I’m passionate about using film to combine culture, creativity, and change. I’m excited to see where it will take me!”
