Wednesday night was the Aces & Angels Party hosted by Gene Simmons of KISS and Shannon Tweed, his longtime girlfriend and a former Playboy Playmate. It’s the start of a long list of celebrity parties around Dallas this week as celebrities, NFL players and fans prepare for the big game.
The party was attended by over 2,500 guests. A range of celebrities were speckled among the crowd including Randy Travis and Tashard Choice. Cowboys Cheerleaders and “angels,” girls walking around donned in white bikinis and feathery wings, were amidst the party as well. There was even a Gene Simmons lookalike complete with KISS makeup and a long plastic tongue.
As they arrived, guests braving the frigid air on the walk from their cars were relieved to ride golf carts to the entrance.

A&E was onsite to film the event for Simmons’ reality show, “Gene Simmons Family Jewels.” After Simmons entrance on the red carpet, he talked with the Jagger Mafia live on 105.3 The Fan and over the course of the night shared his strong support for the troops from stage.
Late into the night was entertainment provided by The Grascals, Little Texas and Five for Fighting among others.
Guests bid on live auction items as well as silent for autographed posters and memorabilia from Swingers to, of course, KISS.
The event was also the culmination of the largest free poker tournament, and Phil Hellmuth, 11-time World Series of Poker champion, stood by passing out tips and criticism over a microphone. The winner of the tournament received a seat in Las Vegas competing in the 2011 World Series of Poker.
Attendees could try their hand at casino games as well with the $500 worth of chips they received with their admission. Winning chips could later be traded for prizes.
The open bar with Svedka Vodka and Jagermeister was a popular attraction as was the large buffet with hot and cold appetizers. The best part of the food though, had to be the table covered with mini Sprinkles cupcakes.
Tickets ranged from $475 general admission to $6,500 for VIP reserved cabana packages.
Proceeds from the night benefit the Wounded Warrior Project and the USO. Hundreds of troops from Fort Hood were in attendance at the event.
