Disney’s value resorts consist of four properties as of right now with a new one sceduled to open the Summer of 2012. The All-Star Sports, Movie, Music and Pop Century resorts. These may be in the value catagory, but they still have all the Disney touches and surprises you would come to expect with the name. The set up for all of them is pretty similar with three or four-story, free standing buildings with exterior entrances all with the theme to fit their name. Each room typically sleeps up to 4 and a crib and the family suites sleep up to 6 with a crib. All properties have at least 2 pools and even playground areas.
All-Star Sports-As you pull up you will notice larger than life icons of all things sports including baseball, basketball, football, surfing and tennis. The property consists of 5 pairs of 3-story buildings and each one is themed after a particular sport. The sections are named Home Run Hotel, Hoops Hotel, Touchdown!, Surfs Up! and Center Court. The property has a total of 1,920 rooms complete with in room refirgerator, laundry service, cable or satellite TV, internet, in room safe and a crib.
The central building consists of the lobby check-in, food court area, gift/sundries shop and arcade. Just outside the back of the main building you will find the main pool area which is a beach-themed Surfboard Bay pool and a little further away you will find a second pool area called the Grand Slam Pool shaped like a baseball diamond where Goofy is on the pitchers mound at the center of the pool squirting guests with water.
All-Star Movies-This property is a basic carbon copy of the sports with the difference being the theme. You will still find 5 pairs of 3-story buildings but these centered around classic Disney films such as Toy Story, Fantasia, The Love Bug, The Mighty Ducks and One Hundred and One Dalmatians. This property consists of 1,920 rooms complete with in room refrigerator, laundry service, cable or satalite TV, internet, in room safe and crib.
The central building is named Cinema Hall which includes the main lobby check-in, food court, gift/sundries shop and arcade. The main pool is located just out back and is called the Fantasia pool and further down is a second pool themed to The Mighty Ducks hockey rink.
All-Star Music-As with the first two, you will find yet again 5 pairs of three-story buildings celebrating the love of music including Broadway show tunes, calypso, country, jazz and rock n’ roll. This property consists of 1,604 rooms and 214 family suites complete with in room refrigerator, laundry service, cable or satalite TV, internet, in room safe and crib.
The central building is named Melody Hall which includes again the main lobby check-in, food court, gift/sundries shop and arcade. The main pool located just out back is a guitar-shaped Calypso Pool with the second smaller grand piano-shaped Piano Pool further down.
Pop Century-This property comes with 10 four-story buildings featuring icons of the 20th-century pop culture crazes like toys, fads, movies, music, gadgets and catch phrases representing the 1950’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. There are 2,880 rooms with all the same extras as the other three and even concierge service.
The central building is named Classic Hall which includes the main lobby check-in, food court, gift/sundries shop and arcade with the main pool just out back… a flower-shaped Hippy Dippy Pool. this property being bigger has two other pools a smaller bowling pin-shaped Bowling Pool and the monitor-shaped Computer Pool. For the little ones they also have an interactive play fountain called the Goofy Kiddie Spray area.
