Aging skin is inevitable. However, there are signs that show us that our skin needs special attention because of the aging process. Internal factors that contribute to aging skin are dryness, fine lines and wrinkles around eyes and mouth, pigmentation, and visible pores. External factors that contribute to aging skin are smoking, continous sun exposure without sunscreen protectant, alcohol and more. Aging skin occurs as early as 20’s- internally damaging the collagen that you don’t see, but later your skin will show these signs externally through the sagging, dryness, and fine lines and wrinkles this is why it is so important to begin an anti aging regimen early.
Here is how you can slow down the aging of your skin:
Diet – Eat dark green leafy veggies, enjoy your omega 3s (fish and flax seeds are great!), and drink plenty of water. If you smoke stop immediately the smoke destroys (kills) the skin cells. If you drink alcohol this causes sagging skin.
Skin care regimen – Cleanse your skin daily with the appropriate skin care products designed for your skin type. Dont forget to exfoliate at least 2x’s per week. Serum is a must for anti aging skin.
Sleep position – Sleep face up because the creases in your pillow can aid in wrinkles especially around the eyes.
Sunscreen – Always protect your skin from the sun in all seasons even the winter!
