Victoria’s Secret models are famous for weight loss after baby, but new mom and VS angel Doutzen Kroes may not be so lucky. Ranked as one of the world’s top-paid models, Doutzen’s celebration of baby news will eventually meet the tough reality of her career.
LOSING WEIGHT TOUGH FOR DOUTZEN
Announced Friday, Doutzen and husband Sunnery James, welcomed their first child Phyllon. As expected, the 8-pound baby is Doutzen’s main focus now. While she says it’s all about “spending time” with family now, the 5-foot-10 catwalk queen faces a tough road ahead in losing weight after baby.
WHY SHE’S NOT LIKE HEIDI KLUM IN WEIGHT LOSS AFTER BABY
While model moms Adriana Lima and Heidi Klum admit losing weight after baby was hard work, they’ve also credited their successful journeys to good genes – something Doutzen has said she doesn’t have. Even at the youthful age of 25-years-old, Doutzen has said her weight loss challenges are much different than her counterparts.
SIZE 6 DOUTZEN: “I’M NOT ONE OF THOSE SKINNY GIRLS”
“I have to work really hard,” Doutzen said last year, adding that her body is seen as ‘too curvy’ by some. “My body…I have a voluptuous body. I am not one of those skinny girls.”
DOUTZEN’S MEASUREMENTS BEFORE PREGNANCY WERE “CURVY”
Victoria’s Secret is well-known for encouraging healthy eating habits and hiring healthy models, but it’s a hard fact that size 10 – or even size 8 – models don’t sell their sexy lingerie. While most models, like Marisa Miller, whittle their bodies into healthy size 4’s, Doutzen admited struggling to keep her body at a size 6 – before geting pregnant – claiming she works harder than most to maintain her 35-25-37 frame.
TOP HIGHEST-PAID MODEL IN 2010
Last year, Doutzen was one of the world’s highest paid supermodels, according to The Daily Mail, Forbes magazine ranks Doutzen as the 5th most lucrative model in the world, bringing home $6 million in 2010.
