DPD officers responding to 911 calls Friday evening discovered three men in their 20s dead inside a trash-strewn house on Faircrest St. Though the DPD will await autopsy results before reaching conclusions as to the cause of each man’s death, there are reports that at least one 911 call claimed shots were fired.
DPD spokeswoman Sgt Eren Stephens reported that entry into the house was delayed until police dealt with several pit bulls on the property. The dogs were removed one by one and stashed in squad cars until they could be rescued.
Evidence technicians processed the crime scene indoors and out, well into the night.
DPD Chief Ralph Godbee visited the scene at some point last evening. While investigators have not firmed up a motive for the killings, Godbee said much information had been gathered already, and that the police could know relatively soon who committed the crime and why.
This is a developing story, so stay tuned.
