It’s that time again – DVD/Blu-ray Tuesday! Let’s take a look at what will be releasing this week into home theaters. We’ve got a couple great Blu-ray re-releases this week, and some new releases for some film everyone’s been waiting for.
Last Tango in Paris, Moonstruck, and Rain Man – February 15th, 2011
MGM Home Entertainment is sending these three classic films home on Blu-ray this Tuesday. These theatrical masterpieces were collectively nominated for sixteen Academy Awards which makes them great additions into any collection.
Last Tango In Paris is being released uncut and stars the legendary Marlon Brando in his role as Paul, a middle-aged American who goes to Paris after his estranged wife commits suicide. There, he meets Jeanne (Maria Schneider) with whom he enters a sadomasochistic relationship when indirectly attacking the hypocrisy around him through outrageous sexual behavior.
The Blu-ray will be released with the original explicit edition (Rated NC-17). There are no bonus features included.
Moonstruck stars Cher (Burlesque) as Loretta, an Italian widow who finds love in through intervention with the Manhattan moon. Loretta has a wedding with Johnny (Danny Aiello), a man she doesn’t love, just weeks away but she falls in love with his younger brother, Ronny (Nicolas Cage).
This Blu-ray debut will come with the following bonus features:

- Moonstruck: At the Heart of an Italian family
- Pastas to Pastries: The Art of Fine Italian Food
- Music of Moonstruck
Rain Man is the nickname of Dustin Hoffman’s character, Raymond, the newly discovered autistic brother of Charlie (Tom Cruise). Following their meeting caused by the death of their father, the two set out on a cross-country trip during which they experience the connection between two very different people.
The Blu-ray release will include the following bonus features:

- Audio Commentary by Writer Ronald Bass
- The Journey of Rain Man – A Retrospective Documentary

Unstoppable – February 15th, 2011
This new release from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment debuts on DVD and Blu-ray for the SRP of $29.98 and $34.99, respectively.
The film stars Denzel Washington and Chris Pine as two courageous men who chase after an unmanned train carrying deadly toxic chemicales as it barrels toward Scranton, Pennsylvania. The film is inspired by true events and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Unstoppable will be released as a two disc Blu-ray/Digital Copy Combo pack and a single disc DVD. The Blu-ray will include the following bonus features:

- Hanging Off the Train: Stunt Work
- On the Rails with the Director and Cast
- The Fastest Track: Unleashing Unstoppable

You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger – February 15th, 2011
Sony Pictures Home Entertainment makes its mark this week with the release of Woody Allen’s You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger for an SRP of $28.95 for the DVD and $38.96 for the Blu-ray.
An Official Selection at both the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, this film follows the story of a pair of married couples, Alfie (Anthony Hopkins) and Helena (Gemma Jones), and their daughter Sally (Naomi Watts) and her husband Roy (Josh Brolin), as their experiences lead them into trouble, happiness, and heartbreak.
You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger has no bonus features included on the Blu-ray or the DVD.
Game of Death – February 15th, 2011
A second Sony Pictures Home Entertainment film is being released this week, Game of Death, on DVD and Blu-ray.
Starring Wesley Snipes, Zoe Bell, and Gary Daniels, this action film follows CIA Agent Marcus Jones (Snipes) a professional hit man caught in the middle of a betrayal between partners in his agency, a ruthless arms dealer and a powerful Wall Street broker.
Game of Death will come with six mini-featurettes which include:
- A Look at the Story
- The Action Game of Death
- The Cast
- Working with Director Giorgio Serafini
- Behind the Stunts
- Shooting in Detroit
Waiting For Superman – February 15th, 2011
The latest film from director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvinient Truth) arrives on DVD and Blu-ray this week from Paramount Home Entertainment for the SRPs of $19.99 and $29.99.
Named Best Documentary of the Year by the National Board of Review, as well as being cited by the American Film Institute as one of the year’s best movies, this remarkable documentary offers an inspirational and compelling look into the American public education system.
Waiting For Superman offers the following bonus features with the DVD and Blu-ray:
- Changing the Odds
- A Conversation with Davis Guggenheim
- The Future is in Our Classrooms
- The Making of “Shine”
- Deleted Scenes
- Audio Commentary by Director Davis Guggenheim and Producer Lesley Chilcott
The film’s release is partnered with DonorsChoose.org as part of an effort to assist viewers in finding a way to make a difference in public schools across the country. With each Waiting For Superman DVD or Blu-ray purchase, DonorsChoose.org will give buyers a $25 credit that can be donated to any classroom project listed on their website.
Ghost House Underground: Stag Night – February 15th, 2011
The latest addition to the Ghost House Underground collection, Stag Night, is making it’s debut on DVD and Blu-ray for an SRP of $19.98 and $29.99, respectively.
This horror film described by STV.tv as being “Slick and reminiscent of 28 Days Later” brings the terrifying tale of New York City’s underground to life when a group of friends head to the city for a bachelor party get stuck in an abandoned subway station and soon find themselves to be targets of a gang of cannibals living in the subway tunnels.
Stag Night will be released with only one bonus feature, which is:
- The Making of Stag Night
