Easton Mountain Products had a fantastic line-up of snowshoes and trekking poles at the 2011 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market show in Salt Lake City, Utah. Get ready for some durable, lightweight, and new technology in the snowshoes and trekking poles for spring and fall 2011.
The lightweight of the Vo2 Racing snowshoe was unbelievable. This ergonomic design of the Vo2 will give the racer fast maneuverability and better step tracking. The Direct-Connect binding will attach to most running or trail footwear for a custom set-up. You will have full range of motion while attached to the snowshoe. The energy transfer for speed and efficiency of the Vo2 comes from the patented Virtual Pivot Traction Cam and Split-Axis™ crampon. The suggested maximum user weight on these is 180 pounds.
The trekking poles have a new innovative technology that has made them even more tough and versatile while out on those trails. The poles were feather weight and felt very sturdy. They have a patent pending Rock-Lock™ adjustability with EVA foam grip extension and a comfort strap. New for 2011 is the Vi-Brake™ Anti-Vibration Technology.
The Vi-Brake™ Anti-Vibration absorbs vibration in every direction. The vibration dampening grip allows for more comfort and longer hours trekking. It is a 360-degree all-axis dampening gel in an ergonomic mold. Shock energy is reduced that transfers to the hand.
The CTR-66 ion Carbon pole will be available in fall 2011 which doesn’t have the Vi-Brake equipped grip; the ATR-80 Aluminum is available in spring 2011 as well as the CTR-80 Carbon. These two include the Vi-Brake equipped grip.
The Arctica Backcountry snowshoe is a USA-built aerospace alloy two-piece articulating frame and gives you more of a natural step on uneven terrain. Digging deeper and better footing are allowed with the patented Virtual Pivot Traction Cam™ that features two independent pivot arms. The Quick-Cinch™ Binding makes tightening easier so you can pull-and-go on your merry way. These snowshoes are available now.
