Relationship Health: Make Every Day Count
Now that we have established that love can have a stress-reducing and health-promoting effect on our lives, take time out to tell someone you love him or her today. Make a commitment to be involved in a healthy loving relationship with family, friends and neighbors (this includes co-workers). Change the environment in your work place, building where you reside, in your home and community by sharing the love. Start small with social bonding like eye contact to a friendly greeting to being courteous and congenial then proceed to offering a helping hand to ongoing displays of affection. It’s easier than you think. Maintain healthy interactions. This means that there are some areas, like borrowing and lending money, should never to be crossed initially until a bond of trust and respect has been established. When put in that position get other people involved by offering to start up a collection at work or in your church for them instead.
Remember, forgiveness is paramount in restoring health as well as supported by the Mayo Clinic. Grudges only foster resentment, hostility and promotes chronic stress related disorders like hypertension and heart disease. Funny thing is harboring bitterness and animosity can build up over time. You can soon become unaware that what is actually needed health wise is de-escalation rehabilitation. Pretty much like what an astronaut goes through by entering into a decontamination chamber before entering back into the real world. Cherish love and the time spent basting in it. Learn from each experience in interrelating relationships whether good, bad or indifferent. “It is far better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all”. If the loved one or family member you wish to give love to is bruised and battered, seeking professional help may benefit you both. Don’t be afraid to make that change… Man in the Mirror.
