Mobile fire department emergency units engine 22, engine 19, engine 29 rescue 22 truck 5 and district 3 chief were dispatched to 6533 Cedar Bend Court. The fire call came in around 2:05pm on January Thursday the 13th 2011.
When the first arriving fire crew pulled up on the scene of 6533 Cedar Bend Court and smoke was drifting into the roadway. The fire trucks crew caught a fire hydrant near the residents and laid a supply line to a spot close to the home.
The captain and crew quickly grabbed an attack fire line off the truck and went to the home entrance door, and knocked on the door loudly. When no one would answer, the crew forced entry into the residents and made their way through the smoke filled home to find where the fire was burning.
Fire crews from the other units on the scene assisted in helping extinguish the fire quickly and kept the flames from engulfing the entire structure.
Fire crews were on the scene for a few hours making sure the fire was out while conducting salvage and overhaul. A fire investigator was dispatched to determine the cause of the fire at 6533 Cedar Bend Court.
