Next weekend, in Hamilton NY, at the Palace Theater will be a live showing of The Lorax to benefit the Rogers Center. While the showing is free, parents are asked to give a donation to the event to benefit the Rogers Center. The Lorax is a Dr. Seuss story based on the dangers of industrialization on our environment. Generations of families have read this fable to their children and most likely is the first tale of environmental conservation that children will read. This is a great opportunity for story to come to life.
The live showing of The Lorax was part of the Rogers Conservation Center winter celebration, however the center was closed as of Dec 31st due to budget cuts. The Rogers Conservation Center has served many local school districts for generations as an example of the importance of the message wonderfully given to children by Dr. Seuss. The event is scheduled for January 29th, at 3:00pm at the Palace Theater. (After the show, parents should wander across the street and check out the candy store full of nostalgia and unique offerings that your children and adults will enjoy.)
