I had a house in Carrollton, Georgia. 3 bedroom, 2 bath on 1 1/3 acres.
I had a job driving a truck for Smith Transportation in Lithia Springs, that over the road drivers envied.
I walked away from it all.
To travel, take photographs and write. I have been doing this for 5 months now, and the grand total I have made through Dec. 2010 is $5.73.
I am 10 months away from drawing any retirement benefits.
I am currently in Honduras. This is where the pedal hits the metal – the business plan of my journey is going to get off the ground, or it is not. The line in the sand has been drawn.
I write for a website where I have to learn how to operate and monetize. HTML, robot.txt implementation, all that wonderful stuff that drives this 58 year old fellow to tears. When I first started learning about computers, we used punch cards and had to wait in line to see if our cards were done correctly. I thought that was bad!
I write for another online magazine. Different platform then glowbass.com, different way of monetizing the articles. Another thing to learn about on the internet.
Photography – another thing. AF settings, shutter speed., and lighting.
I do not know this stuff!
The reason I am explaining this to the reader is to give an idea of where I am starting from.
The reason most of us are here is to make money, correct? Not just to share ideas and thoughts, but to see if we can make a bit of the ol’ casharoola.
I need $500 per month to survive while traveling. You read right – $500.00 per month. The place I am in rents for less then $10.00 per day. I can get by on $5.00 per day for food. $15 x 30 days in a month = $450.00. I get $500 per month, I deprive myself of nothing while I travel.
The first business tasks are as follows:
1) Write one article a day for my blog – The Big Mozey.
2) Write one article per day for the other online site.
3) Write one article per day for the Atlanta World Travel Examiner.
The goals for these tasks are:
1) To get 50 people to subscribe and follow me on my website. I currently have 23.
2) Have 50 people follow me on the other online magazine I write for. I currently have 21.
3) Here on glowbass.com, to have 10 people follow me. I currently have 1 – the editor of the travel writers here on glowbass.com.
To do this I have to write better, take better photographs, twitter more and put more information up on facebook to get referrals for the articles that I will post daily.
Link better on my website, improve it’s appearance.
The beginning of the whole business of making denero, capital, funds, and remuneration for the effort of doing this internet posting of articles and photographs.
I am laying this out here for you readers so that you will get a first hand glimpse of what I am doing to make money. If it is working or not. Where I started from. What web content am I putting out there. If I can pull this off and make money, that means you can.
Is this just hype from these people who claim to be making $100’s to $1,000’s on the net?
We shall see.I will do my best to follow the plans that i have read about. Do this and that to make money on the net. I have chosen what this or that I will do, and it is the time to sink or swim for this traveler.
I hope to have the 50 people for the website, 50 people for the other online magazine and 10 people here on glowbass.com by the end of January.
There it is, out in the open for all to read.
Now,it is time to do.
Cheers for now.
