Over the years, Family Guy has gone after every major target we can think of– Catholics, gays, Native Americans, the crippled, the obese, and so on– but last night’s episode featured a gag directed at one of our favorite targets: Twilight. What does it look like when the cast of Twilight makes an appearance on Family Guy? Puppet-y. Read on for the video, my gentle Examiner readers…
It’s been awhile since we’ve had the opportunity to mock Twilight, and that’s a shame, because we love mocking Twilight. Over the past few years, the saga of Edward Cullen (a sparkly, lady-boy vampire) and Bella Whatever-her-last-name-is (who has at least two known facial expressions, and may be unleashing a third in the next Twilight film) has become the go-to franchise for teenage girls, bored housewives, and confused teenage boys, and we love giving it what-for whenever the opportunity presents itself.
As of late, there’s been no opportunity: they’re making the new movie as we speak, and when that arrives, we’ll have plenty to mock, but for now it’s all quiet on the vampire front. So, thank God Fox’s Family Guy stepped up to the plate for us last night, ripping Twilight a new one in a brief segment that appeared early on in last night’s episode (“German Guy”). Wanna see what Twilight looks like put through the Family Guy filter? Sure ya do.
Click the video box over there on the left, then advance the video to the 4:20 mark. The Twilight-related hijinks begin soon after that. You can also stick around and watch the rest of the episode, if that’s your thing. See? We always take care of you here at Comedy Examiner HQ, don’t we? Stay tuned for more Twilight mockery in the days, weeks, and months ahead, folks. When that new movie arrives, we’re gonna have an effing field day.
