Hello and welcome to the first of many articles dealing with the new changes to World of Warcraft since the release of the latest expansion Cataclysm. Whether you are new or been in the game for awhile you will see the dramatic changes to Azeroth with the rise of Deathwing. All of Azeroth has been transformed into an end of the world scenario with deep rifts torn in the fabric of time. With the change to the structure of Azeroth come changes to the classes as well. Two new classes were introduced to the factions as well. Goblin were added to the Horde and have some perks to their class. Should you choose rogue as a class you will have improved speed with attacks, also mobile banking that is available at level 10 or so.
This enables you to summon a banker that you can access your personal bank. Very helpful in game when you have items you want to sell or cannot use at the present time you can store them in your bank without having to visit a major city. Worgen were added to the alliance and have speed boosts as well. The worgen at level 12 or so get an ability that enables them to run on all fours and is conscidered a mount for the worgen. The mount level for all classes except druid, worgen are still 20. Shaman and druid are able to learn shapeshifting abilities at level 15 this helps in the battlegrounds, since both are good for carrying flags for the group.
If you have been in the game for awhile you will notice the change in mechanics of all classes. Healers for instance cannot use the same rotation or casting order as you used pre cataclysm. I myself have a level 85 druid that for a few levels would run out of mana fairly quickly until I researched how to use my spells properlly. I will be posting more and more about healer classes as well as other classes throughout my articles. For this article I will cover druids and their healing rotations as well as how to reforge your gear. Reforging is a new ability that you can use to enhance your gear or switch stats around to be more beneficial to you. The reforgers are located in major cities usually by the enchanting trainer or you can ask a guard for directions. Reforging your gear can be tricky at first so you need to find out which stats you need to be stacking or getting gear with that stat present.
For druid healers this would be Intellect. This stat causes you to heal for higher amounts and gives you a bigger mana pool to pull from. You will want to reforge your gear that has lets say crit, and hit on it as well as intellect, you will take the hit or crit and reforge it to spirit, which helps your mana regeneration, then haste if your having no issues with your mana. A basic rotation is cast 3 lifeblooms on your tank and keep them up with casting nourish before the lifeblooms expire. You can also do wild growth to heal over time the entire group up to 5 people. You want to focus mainly on the tank but you will notice that people doing dps which is melee or ranged damage, they will complain if you dont heal them as much as well. So try to cast rejuvination or some other heal over time spell on them when the tank is nearly full on health. This will help ensure you make it through the instance without someone getting upset and complaining and leaving your group. Healing will take some getting used to if you have never done it or are starting to do cataclysm dungeons after healing prior. So practice and do a little research. I love healing as well as the other classes that I use. I will cover more throughout the postings so be sure to check back. If you have suggestions as to classes or what you would like to see in upcoming posts feel free to email me or leave a comment on the posts.
