This week’s ‘Glee’ Valentine episode had Flint area ‘Gleeks’ talking. Were Finn (Cory Monteith) and Quinn (Dianna Agron) ever really over? Or, does Rachel (Lea Michele) still ultimately have his heart? And where is Sam (Chord Overstreet) in all of this? One Flint area fan said earlier today, ‘I like Finn way better with Quinn as a couple. Finn and Rachel sing really good, but they don’t make the greatest couple.’ Another person said, ‘Rachel and Finn all the way – they are destined for each other.’ Everyone has their own opinion. Only time will tell who ends up together.
The ‘Silly Love Songs’ episode certainly presented quite a carousel of crushes. First, Puck (Mark Salling) decides he is smitten with Lauren (Ashley Fink)and she plays extremely hard to get – even after being serenaded.
Speaking of serenades: Blaine (Darren Criss) had Kurt’s (Chris Colfer) hopes up, then dashed them when he told Kurt he wanted to serenade someone for Valentine’s Day and it turned out to be Gap employee, Jeremiah. Here’s the thing: love is indeed blind, because, while Blaine was rebuffed by his crush, he has been oblivious all this time to Kurt’s own crush on him. These two are another Flint area favorite potential ‘Glee’ couple. One person told me, ‘Kurt and Blaine are just so cute together. Kurt deserves to have love, after all he’s been through – and Blaine seems perfect for him.’ They do seem a heavenly match, as both have voices like angels. They also seem to have kind-heartedness in common. The ‘When Harry Met Sally’ comment was cute on several levels – and true love often is born out of a beautiful friendship. So, it’s possible that when Kurt confessed his feelings to Blaine (Kudos, Kurt!) and Blaine said, ‘I don’t want to screw this up’ he is really trying to protect something that he feels very strongly about. Once again, we shall wait and see.
The biggest puzzle is Sam-Quinn-Finn-Rachel. So, former lovebirds, Quinn and Finn kissed after the football championship and again last night. Fireworks appeared on both sides. Are the pops and sparks indicative of true love though? One could argue that Finn and Quinn were never really over, that Finn, instead, was just very hurt by her betrayal and now time has changed that. He feels like he lost both Quinn and Rachel to Puck. But, Quinn is conflicted. She thinks she loves Sam. She doesn’t want to be a cheater again. Quinn admits to Finn that she has seen him staring at Rachel when he’s not staring at her. Finn admits to Rachel, he is confused. She asked what happened, what did it feel like when he kissed Quinn and he replied, ‘I saw fireworks.’ She asked if he saw them when he kissed her. His silence prompted Rachel to believe that it’s over and she needs to move on. But, is this necessarily the case? In several ways, Rachel and Finn seem to be made for each other – they both seem destined for greatness. But did they really love each other when they were together? Do they both still love each other now?
Will Lauren ever come around to Puck’s swooning?
The only committed couples seem to be Brittany(Heather Morris) and Artie (Kevin McHale) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) and Mike (Harry Shum, Jr.)
