If you haven’t already voted for your favorite for Top New Vocal Duo or Group for this year’s ACM Awards, you’re running out of time. The deadline for voting is this Thursday, February 24th at noon Eastern Time, which makes it 11:00 a.m. here in St. Louis. If you’re a big fan of country music, you have a chance to shape history with your vote. The winner of this category will compete against the winner from the Top New Solo Artist nominees. The winner of those two will become this year’s Top New Artist overall.
You can help to change the lives of your favorite new country music artists from among the nominees, The JaneDear Girls, Steel Magnolia or The Band Perry. All three of these artists have gained quite a bit of popularity over the past year, which may make it a difficult choice for some.
The JaneDear Girls hit single, Wildflower, has been climbing the charts and so far, has peaked at #15. Even if you haven’t heard Wildflower on St. Louis country radio yet, you may have seen The JaneDear Girls perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live at the end of January, or perhaps, heard their song during Country Countdown USA, which airs on WIL 92.3 FM on Sunday nights.
Steel Magnolia is most well known for their soulful song Keep On Loving You, which was their first single after winning season two of Can You Duet. This single is still played on St. Louis stations though two more releases, Just By Being You and Last Night Again, have followed.
Sibling trio, The Band Perry has already received quite a bit of fanfare due to the popularity of their song, If I Die Young. A popular request on many radio stations, and already a #1 on the country billboard chart, If I Die Young is now being followed up by the band’s release, You Lie, currently at #25.
Though The Band Perry has reached #1 and was recently nominated for a Grammy, it doesn’t mean they are a shoe-in for Top New Vocal Duo or Group. Fans like you must vote to show your support, no matter which of these artists is your favorite. If your favorite wins this category, you will then have the chance to vote them into the Top New Artist spot.
Final winners in all categories will be announced during the 46th annual ACM Awards, which will air April 3rd on St. Louis’ CBS station, KMOV.
