Jury selection set to resume once again Monday in the trial of a former police chief charged with manslaughter in the death of an 8-year-old Connecticut boy.
Edward Fleury has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter as well as giving an Uzi submachine gun to 8-year-old Christopher Bizilj of Ashfield, Connecticut.
Bizilj accidentally shot himself in the head at a gun show sponsored by Fleury back in October 2008.
Jury selection actually began last month but was postphoned when 53-year-old Fleury had to be taken to the hospital after complaining of being sick.
Fleury could face a maximum of 20 years behind bars if convicted of involuntary manslaughter and up to 10 years on the weapons counts.
The entire incident was videotaped by Bizilj’s father. Parts of it will be used in the courtroom.
