Can Keith Olbermann move to Fox? TMZ.com is reporting that Keith Olbermann was indeed fired by MSNBC, presumably in connection with the pending Comcast merger. Keith was the highest rated anchor at MSNBC, but his comments had recently got him into trouble with the network. He probably will be off the air for a few months, but the site reports that he will still get his seven million dollar salary.
Once the dust settles, I propose that Keith move over to Fox and do a show with his arch-nemesis, Bill O’Reilly. “Countdown to the Factor” or “The Factor Countdown” could be one of the highest rated cable news shows in history. Fox already did such a show with Sean Hannity, with Alan Colmes, but Colmes was no match for Hannity.
I would watch this show. Many of you would too.
This is a show that would produce fireworks every night, and possibly even fisticuffs. I would watch that as well. Both men are tall, but Keith is a little younger.
Keith has said “this is not a silly Hollywood feud.” It might not be fair, but it would certainly be balanced.
Rupert Murdoch has the financial and legal means to make this happen, right away. Traditionally ratings go down in off-years like 2011. This could be a financial windfall.
Good night and good luck!
