The best 4A girls team continues to show its dominant ways on the basketball court as the La Salle Prep Lady Falcons added another game in the win column dropping the North Marion Huskies 63-45 in a Tri-Valley league girls basketball game Friday night at the Brick Oven.
The Falcons charged out in front right off the opening tip to stake claim to a ten point lead after one quarter, leading 21-11. They increased the lead to nearly 20 points by intermission, getting on top of the Huskies 38-20.
North Marion kept things close in the third quarter, but La Salle Prep still won the period 16-14 to increase the lead to 20 points heading to the final stanza, up 54-34.
Falcon Senior post, Megan Hays led all scorers in the game with 24 points, while teammate and fellow senior, Brittaney Niebergall tallied 15 points for top ranked La Salle Prep.
The Falcons improve to 2-0 in league play, and 16-0 for the 2010-11 season. They will travel to rival Gladstone on Tuesday night (Jan. 25), before returning to the home court Friday night (Jan. 28) for a potential early battle for first place in the Tri-Valley conference with the sixth-ranked, Madras White Buffalos who also sit at 2-0 in league play.
