“Every birth follows a death”
There is a strong sense of renewal and urgency surrounding this new year of 2011. Circling about the universe, this energy encourages us to move forward with our plans and goals. As every living creature has a moment and a purpose within this course of life there are many cycles that we each must successfully complete. These life cycles move us from one level of understanding to another. Each level of understanding enhances our beings and develops us into the fullness of our lives. This process can not be avoided nor rushed through. Nor can we giver the responsibility of our personal growth to anyone.
There is but one thing certain in life and that is death. In no way should death be looked at as something morbid, death of one life cycle is the opportunity for birth within another cycle. Before reaching our final resting place there are many deaths/endings that must occur in order to bring in newness into life. Think of a baby that is still in his mother’s womb. This child will stay within it’s mother for nine months, this is one of the first life cycle, a person will experience. When the baby is ready to transition into this plane of existence there is a “birthing” into this level of understanding. This level of understanding requires the baby to breathe for himself, to adjust to air, light and begin the process of becoming an independent human. The life cycle that existed while in his mother’s womb must go through a death cycle. The child can not hold on to the fact that his mother’s body processed food for him, the child can not hold onto the fact that he did not have to breathe air, this child must adapt to the fact that the cycle is over and there is a new beginning to prepare for. This process is not always a smooth and does not always come at a convenient time but it must occur.
We all have cycles that we must learn to let go and begin anew. There are some life cycles that can be very painful but must occur for the benefit of the new life cycle. The question must be asked if are we ready for our next life cycle or are we holding into past life cycles that are hindering our movement into the new. Is it time to evaluate how we can let go of our past so we can move boldly into our new life cycles.
