According to Wikipedia, saber-toothed tiger refers to the extinct subfamilies of Machairodontinae (Felidae), Barbourofelidae (Feliformia), and Nimravidae (Feliformia) as well as two families related to marsupials that were found worldwide from the Eocene-Pleistocene epochs (42 mya—11,000 years ago), existing for approximately 42 million years. They are so called for their large, saber-like maxillary canine teeth, which extended from their mouths even when it was closed.
Weird ‘n Wild Creatures depicts the saber-toothed tiger as large — five foot long and weighing up to 450 lbs. for Smilodon Fatalis. This is a rare instance where Wikipedia trumps WNWC. The smilodon could weigh up to 1,110 lbs. The card indicates the saber-tooth used its teeth “like swords” to “puncture hide.” This is likely inaccurate; instead, the saber-tooth probably used its teeth to help crush its prey’s throat, holding them fast. The attack is more like a vice and less like a sword. See Wired for more details on this controversy.
The saber-toothed tiger’s adjusted statistics for Weird ‘n Wild is 5 Attack, 5 Defense, and 67 Life.
