When last we caught up with the ‘LOL’ movie production, it was July 2010 on location in Detroit, and Ashton Kutcher and The Mrs. (Demi Moore – aka mrskutcher on twitter) were enjoying a baseball game at Comerica Park and snapping a self-portrait. This was after Demi had posted another self-portrait that included Marlo Thomas and Miley Cyrus (who play her mother and daughter, respectively, in ‘LOL’) and some other random shots from the Detroit filming location. (See the ‘LOL’ movie location photos slideshow here.)
Fast forward to September 2010, and let’s look in on Miley Cyrus and co-stars Ashley Greene, Adam Sevani, Douglas Booth and others filming a ‘LOL’ scene at Pont des Arts in Paris, France. This is the famous bridge that links the Left Bank to the Louvre where lovers in recent years have begun placing a “cadenas d’amour” (love padlock) before throwing the key to said padlock into the Seine River. Apparently this is done to symbolize the eternal locking of their souls, and it seems quite possible this might be part of the ‘LOL’ Paris storyline. (The ‘LOL’ Paris movie location photos seem to indicate they also take a boat tour and do some shopping.) While the actors waited/readied themselves, someone shot this Paris ‘LOL’ sneak peek video at Pont des Arts featuring a very cold-looking Cyrus.
And, here’s a bonus video – the original French ‘LOL’ film trailer. As mentioned in our first article about ‘LOL’ – published when the film was in pre-production – the upcoming Cyrus film is a remake of a 2008 French film by the same director, Lisa Azuelos. It appears the French film was, shall we say, uninhibited. Although Cyrus has obviously shelved her ‘Hannah Montana’ image in recent months, it should be fun to see how the Cyrus ‘LOL’ trailer compares to the French version in the “sans inhibitions” department when it hits the Internet. (If the ‘LOL’ Paris location photos are any indication, it may be Ashely Greene who has “some ‘splaining to do” in this film.)
Although Demi Moore was apparently not part of the Paris shoot (we suspect Paris is a senior trip destination or some-such in the film), she likely kept in touch with Cyrus via text message. At the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, Moore described working with Cyrus, “She’s adorable. I love her. We text all the time still; she’s a great girl with a great heart.”
In the February 2011 issue of Marie Claire, Cyrus also mentioned their friendship,
“It really felt like Demi was my mom a little bit because we had such great conversations, and I feel like it shows on-screen. I can’t wait for ‘LOL’ to come out. It’s what I’m most proud of.”
It looks like Miley will get her wish in April – on the 22nd, to be exact – and that’s a perfect time to visit Paris!
