Basic and Complex Love
What love has got to do with it? Not just a fan’s chant for the music he or she loves. It is not a 28 Million dollar Gabor mansion at Bel Air, Ca. It is a question that most individuals have come across in a conglomerate of emotions, sifting, paraphrasing, testing or attempting to label within self or the other. A discussion JJ and JC had at a Bel Air, Ca. hotel. Butterflies in the stomach, the chills when breaking love, the fever, the heart drop, the feeling of security and insecurity combined, and the omnipotence may be among the experiences of love labeling. For the few love is a distinct basic emotion that becomes complex when it is in relation to a person, no longer a distinct emotion like fear, anger or happiness. According to a report in 2005 by Phillip R. Shaver of University of California and colleagues, when love is expressed in attachments between people, it is not only an a single emotional surge but the emotion depends on the other, associated with fear of losing love, separation anxiety and distress. Expressions of Love
Humans and other living beings are limited in their physical structure that could support the behavioral expression of numerous emotions. Expression of love can share the physical or behavioral channels that express other emotions. Relational love entails bonding. This is the same bonding channel with a different meaning and feeling when there is maternal, friendship or working relationship attachments. The expression of love also takes the form of taking care or care giving. Expression of love through care giving shares the same behavioral channel when a nurse gives care or a grandchild gives care to a grandparent. But the meaning and feeling is different. A nurse’s feeling who applies a Band-Aid is different than when a lover applies a Band-Aid. Expression of love through the behavioral channel of sex seems to bring the matter to its end. Normally, the sexual channel should be reserved for lovers and for expression of love only. But like other behavioral channels, that may not be for love. Abnormal, sexual behavior may be channel that could be expressing anger, hunger or fear. Please join the discussion, glowbass.com/los-angeles/discuss/is-love-a-basic-emotion-or-similar-… .
Setting Free from Fake Love
The expression of love through the same behavioral channels of other emotions can make the feelings and meanings perplexing. Would that be love that may be a “fake” mixture of other emotions, not pure or basic? The joys, over-coming fears, anger discharge, rewards and relief experienced following the expressions through same behavioral channels can work backwards to reinforce same or similar emotional expressions. Because of the confounding or perplexing there are rewarding bonds, tangled, that maybe hard to set free. Understanding the different emotions and keeping them separate can help one to set free from the bonds of a love itself entangled by other emotions and behavioral channels.
