Friday night marked the CBS series finale for Medium, staring Patricia Arquette. The highly successful television series ran for seven years and was based on real life Arizona medium, Allison Dubois. She does work with local Arizona law enforcement officials to help solve difficult crimes, most recently on the baby Gabriel case.
The real Dubois is a kind, loving mother with incredible special gifts as Arquette portrays and Dubois has been involved with the television show. Several episodes are based on actual events, however many are truly fictional, though local Arizona references brought them to life. Dubois traveled to the Medium set and her three daughters visited with the three actresses that played them onscreen.
It is sad that Medium will no longer fill our Friday nights with the tales of how Allison’s visions and dreams helped solve crimes. Interesting to note that Dubois doesn’t actually get most of her impressions through dreams, but it was easier to convey them that way on television.
The final episode wrapped things up well and it was a tearful end. Watching the actors bid us farewell before walking off the set was a good reminder that they are wonderful actors and will surely move on to other opportunities.
Good luck and thank you to a dynamic cast, crew, and production team. We’ll certainly miss you all very much.
