Over 1,000 artists compete for one of 260 coveted spots at this prestigious festival. Artists are selected by independent jurors to ensure the best quality of artwork for festival guests to enjoy and purchase.
“In addition to having a positive economic impact on local businesses and hotels, Naples National serves as our largest fund raiser helping to fund art scholarships for youth and art programming for our community at large to enjoy,” said Joel Kessler, Executive Director and CEO for the Naples Art Association. “What many people don’t realize is that we are a 501c3 non-profit organization, and the revenue we generate from our five major art festivals allows us to continue our mission.” A suggested donation of $5 is requested for entrance to the festival.
Artwork from this year’s show includes ceramics, digital art, leather work, fine furniture, glass, printmaking, jewelry, metal sculptures, 2D and 3 D mixed media, paintings, photography, wood and more. Festival goers will enjoy the opportunity to meet the actual artists who create these wonderful pieces and speak about their inspiration and techniques. Artist, Mimi Damrauer, who is in the midst of designing work for retail giant, Crate & Barrel, will be returning for her fourth trip to this prestigious festival. “I am based in Chicago and travel all over the country to participate in festivals,” said Damrauer. “Naples National is truly one of my favorite shows. I love interacting with the people in Naples and have built a number of ongoing relationships with repeat clients and collectors.”
Beginning at 9:30 AM on Saturday, local dignitaries and business owners will be on hand to officially kick off the festival with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony. At 1 PM on Sunday, the Naples Art Association will formally announce the award winners selected by on-site, independent judges.
