(VAN BUREN, ARK) An new art group has formed and will meet once a month from now through October. The group sessions will provide artists the opportunity to gain knowledge of all kinds of art forms and to create in an art-friendly setting.
Western Edge Art Resource, or WEAR, was formed as an art resource to help artists with difficulties they might be having with a drawing or painting, or simply making art. It also gets them with other artists, which often leads to friendships and support.
WEAR meets 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the second Saturday at Art Form Studio, 627 Main St., Van Buren. It is requested you arrive at 9:00 to set up, since the art sessions begin promptly at 9:30.
There will be live models for most meetings, but the group hopes to add different venues to meet everyone’s needs. The model fee is $10 a session.
Artists need to bring their own easels, supplies and tables, plus a brown bag lunch if they don’t want to eat out. Because the meeting room is on the second floor, it is not handicap accessible. However, there will be people to assist members with carrying equipment. If you want music, it’s suggested you bring headphones and music.
