Tuesday nights at 8PM have two shows that are already hits to choose from: NCIS on CBS 2 and Glee on Fox 5. But there’s also the new series over on ABC 7 in Queens, No Ordinary Family, which follows a family with a range of abilities. The show hasn’t been bringing in many viewers, but it’s worth setting your DVRs for or catching it OnDemand if you can. In the next new episode, “No Ordinary Powell,” Rebecca Mader of Lost is back—and this only means things are getting worse for the Powells.
“The Powells’ lives are in danger when Dr. King orders shape-shifter Victoria Morrow to infiltrate the household and murder one of the family members; and JJ, with the aid of Daphne, attempts to solve the cold case murder of his ex-girlfriend Natalie’s mother.”
Uh-oh, it sounds like JJ and Daphne are going to be in trouble on their own without the addition of Victoria Morrow to worry about. And what about the relationship between Katie and Joshua? King paid Katie a visit and told her that her boyfriend has killed people, but Joshua used his abilities to make her forget the conversation (and trust him).
The promo begins with a quick look back at the villains-of-the-week that the Powells have encountered so far, but Victoria is the worst by far. She can make herself look like anyone, and though a very useful ability, it is extremely dangerous for the Powells.
Jim visits Stephanie at work and tells her they’re not safe and their family is being followed. JJ and Daphne are seen walking through the street at night as a car pulls up behind them. But could that have something to do with the cold case murder they’re investigating and not their abilities?
The promo describes Victoria as “their deadliest enemy yet,” and that’s definitely true. She has shape-shifted into Katie and now in this episode, she will become Jim, leading to a fight between Jim and “Jim.” And “Jim” has a good point—if Jim is killed, it would be hard to prove Victoria, as “Jim,” isn’t him, at least by sight. But what about Jim’s powers? Just because Victoria can shape-shift doesn’t mean she can also mimic his powers. The promo ends with Stephanie finding Jim lying on the floor in their house unconscious—but which Jim is he and how serious is he hurt?
