If you are looking for a way to shake up your exercise routine, try Stroller Strides of Olympia. You can attend one class as a free trial to see what the hype is all about.
Stroller Strides is an amazing, full-body workout program that will get you in shape while spending time with your child. It will also give you the opportunity to connect and build friendships with other moms. After all, no one knows what you are going through (think the miracle of first steps, the horror of public tantrums, doctors visits, etc…) better than another mom who has been there! For more information on what Stroller Strides is all about read the previous article HERE.
Kim Bauer is the owner and instructor of the local Olympia Stroller Strides which has been open since September 2010. According to Bauer, “Stroller Strides isn’t just about physical fitness, although it can be a pretty intense workout and is certainly not just a walk in the park. Stroller Strides recognizes the importance of finding balance in life and motherhood. Moms need a tight community of other Moms with whom to share advice, tips and laughter.” Bauer says most moms initially come to class for the fitness aspect but in the end, they are just as touched by the special friendships they have made.
Bauer’s vision when opening Stroller Strides of Olympia was to create a community in which every mom could be nurtured as a person. As every mom knows, the transition to motherhood (whether it be your first, second or third child) can be difficult and very isolating. “Through fitness, friends and fun, the needs of both the kids and the moms are met (at Stroller Strides). Any parent is welcome, and I strive to make a place where whether you use cloth diapers or regular diapers, breastfeed or formula feed, had a natural birth or a c-section… none of it matters, and we all can come together for common purposes and find some balance and support in this journey of parenthood,” says Bauer.
Having tried out the Olympia Stroller Strides myself, I would say Bauer has achieved her goal. Not only will you get a fantastic workout, but you will have fun and connect with other moms and their children at the same time.
Bauers’ enthusiasm for Stroller Strides is infectious. “Every day I head to class, I picture the thousands of Moms and kids around the country participating in Stroller Strides workouts, and I smile. I am a part of something special and I can’t wait to see what Stroller Strides of Olympia will become.”
