Pick’n Save has put out another one of their monthly coupon books. These are delivered in the mail with the Red Plum package and are not available in their stores. They differ slightly depending on where you live, but they are good through March 2, and among the items they include are these:
*A quart of Kemps milk for 88 cents.
*A 56-ounce tub of Roundy’s ice cream for $2.88
*A 2-lb package of Creamette Pasta for $1.48
*A 2.1 ounce package of Oscar Mayer fully cooked bacon for $1.98
*Roundy’s fresh whole chicken at 98 cents/lb (limited to two)
*A cooked rotisserie chicken for $4.98 (and check you coupons at home, because there recently was a hanger coupon from Crush that entitles you to a free 2-liter bottle if you buy a rotisserie chicken.)
*An 8-ounce package of whole white mushrooms for 98 cents.
*A 50-ounce bottle of Era liquid laundry detergent for $2.48
*A 9-12 roll of Quilted Northern bath tissue of a 6-8 roll pacaged of Brawny paper towels for $5.98
Don’t forget that rotisserie chickens– as a cooked food– and laundry detergent and paper products are all subject to sales tax, but you can save 5 cents per bag by bringing your own reusable bags (which are easier to carry anyway).
Also, if you’ve been buying your kids those gallon bottles of flavored sugar water some stores promote as “fruit flavored drinks” (though they’re nothing but empty calories), consider using the $1-off-two-gallons coupon for Kemps chocolate milk, which comes in a low-fat variety. That coupon is also in that booklet, but unlike the others, you can double it on Wednesday or Saturday if you meet the other coupon-doubling requirements (which include spending at least $25 in a single visit). Much healthier than sugar water, milk provides protein and calcium and may even be lower in calories.
In addition to the book, this week’s Pick’n Save flyers (available in stores and good through February 23rd) include Roundy’s shredded, chunk, or deli-style cheese, in 5 to 8 ounce varieties, at $1.66 with your Roundy’s card (if you don’t have one, you can sign up for one in the store). Red Garnet sweet potatoes (so sweet you don’t have to add any sugar to them, saving all kinds of empty calories) are 99 cents a pound. And 59-ounce bottle of Minute Maid Enhanced or Simply Juice orange or other fruit drinks are $3 each.
The week’s deal is that through February 23rd. you can save $10 instantly off the purchase of six boxes of General Mills cereal (in select sizes) and get a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs free. And if you have a General Mills coupon and shop on a Wednesday or Saturday and meet the other requirements, you can double that coupon. Bring your own bags and you’ll really make out well!
Pick’n Save also has a large number of items at 10 for $10, which means they are a dollar apiece. They included some varieties of Progresso soups, 6-ounce packages of Roundy’s string cheese, Roundy’s baby-cut carrots, and Hunt’s canned tomatoes.
And in a special cross promotion, if you spend $50 in a single shopping order between February 17th and 19th (the 19th is a Saturday, in case you’re looking to double your coupons), you can get a coupon woth $10 off a $25 purchase at Boston store or bostonstore.com (but the coupons are only good through February 26th). There are some restrictions (check the flyers).
