Thundarr witnesses three people using gliders, only to be grounded by tiger people with lasers. Led by a bald guy named Judag, their battle ends in a stalemate when Judag causes an avalanche to make his escape.
After this is when a bad case of cartoon-stupidity creeps in — a teenage girl barbarian named Shara, a teenage wizard named Merlik and their giant bird Yeek. And yes, Shara has her own stupid battle cry and Yeek makes a noise like this: YEEK! Redhead barbarian hottie? Stupid flying sidekick? What is this, Mightor?

Judag’s plan is directly inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, complete with switches and sparking electrodes. Judage believes that the demon he awakens will grant him the power of a thousand wizards, but it seems to be a large humanoid eagle with a rat’s tail and no wizardly powers. It turns out it was Genetic Research Project 112-K, a life science experiment. Hungry after its cryogenic sleep, 112-K decides to eat the glider people.

What ensues is a fantastic display of incompetence on the part of Shara, who dives off of Yeek (YEEK!) to land on 112-K and promptly falls off of it. Merlik manage and Yeek manage to catch her, unfortunately. When Ookla body slams 112-K into a cave, it’s only at his urging that Yeek causes the cavern entrance to collapse. In other words, these two teenage idiots can’t even command their own vulture bird.
The only saving grace of this episode is that throughout, Thundarr also thinks these teenage punks are idiots.
