Queen Elizabeth II ordered the invitations to be sent, as is the custom for royal weddings and the secret guest list reportedly contains friends of the royal couple, dignitaries from around the world and celebrities – 1,900 in all.

The invitation has a gold-stamped EIIR with a crown on the top and begins “The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by The Queen to invite…” and has a space where the name of the person being invited will be written by hand.

Bri Taylor of Gather reported some of the invitations were faxed: Though earlier invitations to the Royal Wedding – mainly those headed for fellow royal families or other hush-hush attendees – went out weeks ago via fax, Prince William and his bride-to-be Kate Middleton have now finished off the last of the invitations, with a source from inside the palace confirming that, “They’re in the process of being sent out.”
Celebrity Smack revealed some of the guests: We hear David Beckham and wife Victoria Beckham have been invited as have 40 world leaders. The King of Jordan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Sultan of Oman, the King of Bahrain, the Sultan of Brunei and the King of Saudi Arabia, the Emperor of Japan, the King of Malaysia, the King of Tonga and the King of Thailand are among the invitees.
Showbiz Spy came up with who should not expect invitations: President Barack Obama and other world leaders will miss out because William is only second in line to the British throne, not the heir.
The bloggers have also been hinting the Sir Elton John may be attending, although no one so far has confirmed if Elton will be singing a song for the Royal Couple.
The Royal Wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton will be on April 29, 2011 at Westminster Abbey.
