Professional Climbers International (PCI) has launched a brand new Web site which creates a centralized point to learn about climbing’s brightest stars. You can also learn about PCI’s three core initiatives which serve to increase the value of climbing for the benefit of its athletes and industry.
The three core initiatives consist of:
Visibility of rock climbing and bouldering need to be increased far beyond present boundaries while creating a vibrant and viable class of professional climber.
PCI is launching a grant program this year for the most aspiring and daring climbing goals.
Accessibility needs to be increased for all new entrants.
PCI inducted the first youth educational climbing programs in Sonoma, California at the Presentation School (K-8) and the Boys and Girls Club of Sonoma Valley (K-12). According to PCI President, Kevin Jorgeson, “We want to create a highly replicable program in Sonoma, one that can be shared with hundreds, and eventually thousands, of Boys and Girls Clubs and schools across the country.”
Environment needs to be preserved, protected, and honored as it has been increasingly stressed.
PCI is partnered with rock climbing’s nationwide access advocacy group, The Access Fund, to advance their common goals. Together they are working to revitalize the Access Fund’s Ambassador Program which utilizes the climbing stars to encourage responsible outdoor ethics and promote the mission of the Access Fund.
Fans can connect with professional athletes such as Kevin Jorgeson, Alex Honnold, Alex Puccio, Beth Rodden, and several others to learn about their accomplishments, projects and interests.
If you are a climbing athlete, PCI offers the right tools to propel a career no matter what stage of development you’re in. Resources include advisory services to portfolio development, and grants to public relations assistance. Membership is open to any sponsored climber.
PCI has also partnered with www.climbingnarc.com, the popular climbing news Web site run by founder Brian Runnells. This collaboration will bring you first hand information from the athletes.
Let Professional Climbers International help give you a boost in your professional climbing career with the right resources and support that you will need.
