As we all know the New Year is here, which allows us to experience many new wonderful life enlightenments. Most of us have made promises and resolutions for the New Year. Well I believe that its time that we learn to not only implement our resolution and promises, but the word of God. Without the word of God in our life those promises and resolutions simply mean nothing. The scripture states in Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. This simply means that no matter how hard we try we may still fall short at times and seem to need assistance in carrying on in our missions and journeys.
Matthew 4:4 states that “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. This simply means that we cannot do this thing called life alone and we should live by the word of God. So many times we get to a point when we believe that we can do it all by ourselves and succeed. Well, guess what we are dead wrong and without God our missions are all in vain. The scripture says “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” With this scripture it reminds us that we should always put God first in all we do if we want to succeed. “The Creator has not given you a longing to do that which you have no ability to do.” Orison Swett Marden.
With that being said, if you want to follow through with your resolutions and promises for 2011 one must put God as the complete head of your life for this year and beyond. Below you will find some scriptures and tips of encouragement for a prosperous and prominent 2011.
1. “Bring one-tenth of your income into the storehouse so that there may be food in my house. Test me in this way,” says the LORD of Armies. “See if I won’t open the windows of heaven for you and flood you with blessings”. Malachi 3:10
God promises us that if we give just a portion of 10 percent of our earnings that He will bless us with innumerable and unexpected blessings. Keep in mind you do not have to belong to a specific church or ministry in order to give because you can always give to anonymous churches or ministries of one’s choice. Below you will find a list of churches and ministries that you don’t even have to leave your home to give to such as:
1. Christian Cultural Center
2. Franklin Avenue Baptist Church
3. Beacon Light Missionary Baptist Church
4. Greater Saint Stephens
5. God’s Woman International Ministries, Inc.
2. “Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].” 1 Thessalonians 5: 18
Always give God thanks in the Morning for waking you and at not for sustaining you. And always remember that God allowed you to have this day rather good or bad…Be thankful.
3. “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Read a verse of the bible each day it helps us to become and stay well grounded on focused on God.
4. Try saying a prayer of choice each day it helps one to fight the negativity that we may sometimes find ourselves surrounded by. Below you will find some prayers of encouragement that you may want to use.
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
The Our Father Prayer
Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
The 23rd Psalm
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory Be Prayer
Glory be to the Father,
And to the Son,
And to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now,
And ever shall be,
World without end. Amen.
5. Be thankful for what you have because each struggle and obstacle makes one closer to the victory of God.
I want to close this by saying “This is it” declare the victory of 2011 in your life while learning to put God first and by accepting God’s will upon your life. By no means is life easy but it can be less stressful when you live your life around God and his word because the guidance from God will never lead you wrong. Yes, 2011 is your year only if you claim it and live it in the name of God. I pray that all of you have a blessed 2011 and a prosperous New Year in the name of God. Amen, Amen and Amen!!!
