Rex Ryan has plenty to say about the Jets winning the Super Bowl and this is the same Jets coach, Rex Ryan, who has plenty he won’t say about the alleged discovery of the alleged Rex Ryan online sexual and fetish life. Before the Jets were in training camp, it may be that Rex Ryan gave the Jets players a heads up or a form of a warning that something like this may happen?
After Sunday’s game put the Jets in the number six seed in the AFC playoffs, Ryan could be heard through any microphone put in front of him saying “I think were going to win the Super Bowl this year.” This is usually followed by “This is a personal matter” when asked for comments about his wife’s images in porn pictures online. The media moves on to the next best thing, the Jets players. They have interviewed a few of the players regarding their feelings on “Rex Ryan’s personal matters”
The online sex world that Rex Ryan and his wife allegedly take part in, has come up at a very unfortunate time in Rex Ryan’s career, but did Rex Ryan get his team ready for this possibility even before training camp begun? It seems as if Ryan gave his Jets players a speech that consisted of what now might be called a premonition. Ryan told the team that as soon as the team starts showing their abilities to become champions, be prepared for all types of dirt to be dredged up.
Jets Wayne Hunter said that the “coach warned us when hard knocks came that people were going to try and scoop up some dirt on us.” According to Hunter in this ESPN article, Hunter finished the sentence with, “And they were able to do this,” referring to the Rex and Michelle Ryan’s controversial online stories. Warner said this talk with the team came “before they entered training camp.”
Rex Ryan’s lack of denial around any of the subject matter that has appeared online and this “warning” that he presented to the team before they even threw out their first foot ball, may suggest that Ryan suspected this would happen.
Ryan’s Jets have a hard road ahead of them with their previous loss of three games out of their last five played. The path to the Super Bowl offers a big barrier to the Jets when they Play New England. New England made the Jets look like a high school team when New England won 45 -3 in December. If the Jets should win their first game with Indianapolis, which is where the playoffs stopped for the Jets last year, then it is the Patriots they tackle next.
Getting into the mind set of the Jets coach Rex Ryan is evidently not an easy thing to do. No one could have guessed that an alleged secret online sex life would come up for Rex Ryan and Michelle Ryan, who look as straight edged as cardboard cut outs of a middle aged couple.
Ryan may be taking the “if I don’t talk about it, it will go away,” approach, which would give him even more need to win the Super Bowl this year. A win in the Super Bowl would for sure over shadow Ryan’s “personal matter.” This would make Ryan’s life a little better than it is today.
It can’t hurt the Jets to have a coach this motivated for both career and personal reasons to win the Super Bowl?
This “personal matter” of Ryan’s may be taking away a little bit of the lime light for the players. It is a time in their professional lives where they should be enjoying their 15 minutes of fame, and traditionally talking about the big game coming up with reporters. Many of the questions being tossed their way is about Rex Ryan’s scandal, and this is just not fair to the players, who have nothing to do with this.
If the Jets make it through to the New England game, Connecticut football fans will be split in two. These are the two NFL teams that are traditionally the favorites of Connecticut fans. This is evident in any sports bar in the Nutmeg state. The Jets fans appear to be concentrated in Southern Connecticut, with the Patriots fans claiming most of the Northern sections of state.
