3XWrestling put on another terrific show last Friday night with “Reign of Terror II”. There were plenty of surprises, excitement and lots pro wrestling action for all the loyal fans in attendance!
Once again 3XW drew a sold out crowd to the Des Moines Social Club and the fans where eager for some wrestling. The first match of the night was between the former 3XW Heavyweight champion “The Rebel” Jeremy Wyatt and “The Right Price” Aaron Masterson. A surprising match up to say the least as Wyatt is usually in the main event for 3XW. Wyatt wasted no time in attacking the right arm of Masterson and worked it over for most of the match. Masterson tried to fight off the surly “Rebel” but unfortunately he was forced to tap out to Wyatt’s Kansas City Crossface.
Immediately after the match the music for the dominant faction “Genesis” began to play from the speakers. By instinct Wyatt grabbed a chair and prepared for an all out assault by the supergroup. Out from the entrance ramp came “Commissioner” Todd Countryman, “Delicious” Devin Carter, Casanova and the reprehensible Steve Biley. The crowd booed frantically for what appeared to be over whelming odds for the solitary Wyatt. Countryman took the mic and announced that they are not there to fight but to offer Wyatt a place in “Genesis”! Wyatt says that he will think about it and exited the ring. If Wyatt joins the gang there will be no stopping “Genesis” but if rejects the offer he will become a lone target.
The next match consisted of Sir Bradley Charles and “The American Fury” Jon West taking on “American Ground and Air” of “Genesis”. SBC and J-Dub did there best to keep the action in the ring clean but Nate Bash and Ben Sailor of “American G & A” had other plans. As SBC was just getting the upper hand Sailor interfered in the match from the outside by distracting the ref. This enabled Bash to rollup Charles while putting his feet on the second rope and getting the three count. Surprise, surprise a team from “Genesis” had to cheat to win.
After that match out came Knight Wagner slapping hands along with a friendly smile. Then a freight train from hell came rushing threw the curtains and plowed Wagner into the first row! The Mauler came out to make a statement and he certainly did. As the limp Wagner was tossed in the ring the always annoying Chad Mylan screamed like a little girl with delight. The Mauler attacked without restraint and finished off his would be adversary with a vicious sit down piledriver. Even after the match the unrelenting Mauler continued to pound on poor Knight Wagner until Mylan took control of the untamed beast. Mission accomplished for The Mauler and Chad Mylan.
But this not the last we would see of The Mauler or Mylan as they both accompanied the 3XW Pure Wrestling champion, “The Laotian Sensation” Ricky Kwong to the ring. The champ was defended his title against his arch rival “The Rockstar” Jimmy Rockwell. The rivalry between these two superstars has been boiling for months! Both Kwong and Rockwell were giving everything they had and more in this awesome match up. With neither man having an edge in the match finally Kwong was able to hook “The Rockstar” in an STF. Rockwell looked as if he was on the verge of tapping when a burst of strength allowed him to reach the rope and break the hold. Rockwell regained his composure and was able to land an incredible moonsault on Kwong and get the pin! The crowd erupted with joy as Jimmy Rockwell is now a two time 3XW Pure Wrestling champion.
“The Rockstar” was about to celebrate when an enraged Mauler tried to attack him but ended up on the mat after inadvertently running into a superkick by Kwong. Rockwell knocked Kwong out of the ring and was left alone with the mouth of “MMA” Chad Mylan. With no where to go Mylan runs into Rockwell’s fist! He then pulls Mylan to the corner where he leaps from the top turnbuckle and lands the Rock-on-Bomb! A disgraced Kwong leaves in shame while a lifeless Mylan is carried to a waiting ambulance.
Following the intermission Team “Genesis”, featuring Carter, Casanova and Biley, came to the ring taunting the crowd with their sleazy antics. Their opponents for the night were the amazing “High Flyers” and “The Canadian Sex Icon” Ryan Slade. Slade also made the announcer says that his new nickname is “Smoother” and we would find out more on this later. During the three man tag team encounter Slade decided to leave “The Unbreakable” Zach Thompson and Mike Sydal, of “The High Flyers”. With Thompson and Sydal out numbered they were really getting a beat down. Slade must have had a change of heart and charged the ring with extreme furry! He was on fire landing punches left and right and finally he had Biley and was about to hit his Canadian Destroyer when A.J. Smooth ran to the ring. Smooth and Slade used to very close tag team partners until a recent fall out. With Slade going after Smooth the “High Flyers” odds were too much and Sydal became a victim of Carter and Casanova’s 3D. Once again a team from “Genesis” is victorious.
Next up was an excellent match featuring Shane Hollister taking on the one and only Rebelucha! This fast pace match was an excellent bout to present the skill and talents of both these wrestlers. Hollister ended up getting the win after hitting Rebelucha with what can only be described as leghook facebuster. It was a great effort on the part of both these wrestlers.
Before the last match there was the 3XW Tag Team championship. Another team from “Genesis” came out to challenge for the belts. “Torturous” Tony Sly and A.J. Smooth teamed for the first time to take on the first time defending tag champs “The Horndogs”. A.J. Smooth was still reeling from earlier events and now wanted to be called “Sexier” A.J. Smooth. Maddog McDowell and Krotch were amped and ready to give Sly and Smooth a first class beat down! The battle was brutal and going back and forth when a little help came to “The Horndogs” in the form of one Ryan Slade! Slade came out to exact some revenge on Smooth for distracting him earlier. This gave “The Horndogs” the upper hand and they were able to hit the Horndog Drop and get the one, two, three.
As the “Dogs” celebrated in the ring Ryan Slade took the mic and challenged A. J. Smooth to a match at next months show! Slade claimed he was the more attractive superstar between the former friends and we will find out who the better wrestler is next month.
The final match of the night was for the 3XWrestling Heavyweight strap. The current champ, Brian Ash of “Genesis”, came to the ring accompanied by Todd Countryman and Steve Biley. His worthy opponent was the “World’s Fittest Wrestler” and after last month’s spectacular bout can now be called “Ironman” Mark Sterling. These two collided like two giant rhinos in the middle of the ring. Ash might be big but he is not stupid. Instead of trying to match move for move and muscle to muscle with Sterling he would let him chase him around the squared circle. But the “Ironman” is not known as the “Fittest” for nothing as he pounced and attacked his larger adversary from all angles. Getting Ash on the ground Sterling went for his infamous Markshooter which in most cases would signal the end of the match. Biley interfered and broke the hold but ended up on the concrete after Sterling ducked a punch by Ash. As Ash turned around, after looking at the unconscious Biley, he took a huge spear to the gut from a raging Mark Sterling! The “Ironman” went for the pin but Ash was able to put his hand under the ropes thus breaking the count. Both wrestlers went to the outside where they continued brawling all over the arena! Neither wrestler heard or cared that the referee had counted them out as fists were flying everywhere! The match was ruled a draw and Brian Ash would retain the gold much to the chagrin of the 3XW fans.
The rest of “Genesis” then charged Mark Sterling and mercilessly began their malicious attack. But out from the locker came the “High Flyers” and Ryan Slade to make the rescue for Sterling! Biley gets beat up again and Sterling along with his new friends stood united against the now retreating “Genesis”. What will happen at next month’s event?
