Rush Limbaugh blasts Al Gore over response to Bill O’Reilly on global warming
Talk show host Rush Limbaugh is blasting former Vice President Al Gore for his response to Bill O’Reilly’s skepticism over global warming in light of the unusually cold winter weather. Limbaugh is heard locally here in the San Francisco Bay Area on KSFO 560 AM 9 a.m.- Noon.
On Wednesday, February 2, Limbaugh noted a posting on Gore’s blog in response to Fox’s Bill O’Reilly.
O’Reilly asked on his show why southern New York state has turned into a tundra. He said he had a call into Al Gore.
Gore responded on his blog that he appreciated the question.
Gore then wrote in his blog:
“As it turns out, the scientific community has been addressing this particular question for some time now and they say that increased heavy snowfalls are completely consistent with what they have been predicting as a consequence of man-made global warming:
(Gore quoted from columnist Clarence Page here.)
“In fact, scientists have been warning for at least two decades that global warming could make snowstorms more severe. Snow has two simple ingredients: cold and moisture. Warmer air collects moisture like a sponge until it hits a patch of cold air. When temperatures dip below freezing, a lot of moisture creates a lot of snow.
“A rise in global temperature can create all sorts of havoc, ranging from hotter dry spells to colder winters, along with increasingly violent storms, flooding, forest fires and loss of endangered species.”
Limbaugh blasted that response, telling listeners that those who believe in global warming only came up with that explanation after the recent unusually cold and snowy winters. Limbaugh quoted scientists “in the forefront of the global warming hoax” who said that snow would soon become a very rare event.
Limbaugh played sound bites from Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore who now runs the organization Green Spirit. Moore said he left Greenpeace after the organization was taken over by economic leftists.
Limbaugh also played audio from an interview on Fox and Friends Wednesday with Acme Weather meteorologist Joe Bastardi who slammed Gore and others for suggesting that the recent harsh winter weather had anything to do with global warming. The audio from that interview is on the left. Click “Click to Play” to view.
Bartardi noted that the earth has been warming since the little ice age in the 1880s. Both Bastardi and Moore said that global warming is preferable to global cooling.
