Trigger Agency’s Beer, Bourbon & BBQ Festival is returning to Manhattan for a second year in a row to LA.VENUE at 608 West 28th Street (between 11th & 12th Ave.) in West Chelsea on Saturday, January 29, 2011. Last year was such a hit and this year will be even bigger and better. Expect more food, space and fun! This festival is the cure for the winter doldrums. The all-you-care-to-taste extravaganza is being held in two sessions:
- The Bacon Session Noon to 4 p.m.
- The Whole Hog Session 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Each mouth-watering session will feature a minimum of 10+ different food tasting stations. There will be food tastings from their own chefs as well as some of NYC’s finest BBQ and southern cuisine restaurants. All ticket holders will receive a souvenir glass to sample over 60 beers and 40 bourbons while enjoying bluegrass music and plenty of barbeque from pulled pork, beef, brisket, chicken, ribs, country sides and more. Master Distillers from the big Kentucky Bourbon Houses, Master Brewers from Internationally renowned breweries and Pitmasters from North Carolina, Maryland and Texas will be on hand with hands-on demonstrations and tasting classes. In addition, to these tastings, guests are welcome to purchase more of their BBQ favorites as they will keep the portions heavy and the prices low.
“We’re very excited to have this event hosted again in Manhattan. Last year was extremely fun and a great break to the winter doldrums. This year we’ve added more of everything that guests enjoyed last year….plus a few surprises!” says Greg Nivens, President of the Trigger Agency.
Along with the vast food, spirits and beer tastings, attendees will have lots of other great activities at the event. The Tasting Theater will feature tasting classes and seminars on various topics. To date, Harlen Wheatley, Master Distiller for Buffalo Trace, Hugh Sisson, Master Brewer from Heavy Seas, NC Pitmaster Bill Eason from Lil’ Red Pig and MD Pit Master Steve Klobitis of Kloby’s Smokehouse are all slated to speak.
Past the Tasting Theater, guests can enjoy the talents of some of New York’s finest bluegrass musicians on the Haymarket Main Stage. Doug Yeomans & Mountain Run will play both sessions along with the M Shanghai String Band. There will be other exhibits including hot sauces, BBQ sauces, brewerania and even hand-rolled cigars.
