Summer may seem far away right now but you may want to set aside a little cash for the upcoming registration at Lincoln Park Zoo’s Summer Camp Programs For Kids: Conservation Camp and Zoo Crew
Conservation Camp offers unique opportunities for kids ranging from 4 years old to those in the 4th grade, in order to explore the zoo, discover animal diversity and environmental conservation. Campers will get the chance to see first hand how the zoo cares for animals while at the same time, working to protect them in the wild.
Choose one or two different weeks of camp called Nature Navigators and Eco Explorers. Each week is independent of the other and non-cumulative, providing kids the opportunity to enroll in one or both, consecutively or non-consecutively. Young campers (ages 4 & 5), have half-day sessions either in the mornings or afternoons, while the older campers (grades 1-4), have full day sessions (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) Monday thru Friday.
Who: Kids, aged 4 years-old to those entering the 4th grade in the Fall of 2011.

When: Conservation Camp meets Monday thru Friday; half-day programs (4 & 5 year-olds), 9-11:30a.m. or 12:30-3p.m. Full day programs (grades 1-4), 9.a.m.-3p.m.

Zoo Crew: A new summer program for kids, ages 5-8
Zoo Crew is a brand new summer learning and outreach opportunity for youth beginning grades 5-8 this fall. Zoo crew members will work with their peers and zoo staff to develop and implement environmentally-minded projects to make positive changes in their own communities. Zoo conservationists who study and protect wildlife will meet with zoo crew members to share their conservation stories. From launching a recycling program to educating their neighbors, to establishing a local garden, the opportunities for Zoo Crew is endless.
